Lucy is specialised in econometrics and data analysis oriented to causal identification. Her main research topics focus on development, environmental and health economics.

Her research work centers in empirical contribution concerning the challenges that developing countries face managing and improving environmental quality and health. She is particularly interested in the intersection of these topics in terms of inequality in the morbidity induced by environmental degradation and pollution, paths to sustainable and equitable development, and environmental justice.

In her previous employment as an analyst for the National Laboratory of Public Policy (LNPP) in Mexico, she was part of the Simulation Unit (USim) team working on the development of agent-based models related to health and agreements for CO2 emissions reductions.
