CORESO factsheet: Design thinking

What is it?

Design Thinking is an innovative and iterative approach which includes six stages to develop products or/and services for any industry. This method is known for best identifying the needs of users and stakeholders. It also makes it possible to generate ideas, to experiment and to implement them. It requires a multidisciplinary pool of people because the creation of a concept and the realisation of an idea often require different skills and professions.

Why should we use it?

Design thinking is a flexible process that can be adapted to any issue. It is appreciated because it is a human and user-centered approach and at the same time it allows to have an overview and to study the ecosystem of an idea to best meet the different needs for the users and stakeholders.

Where can we use it?

As this is a human-centered approach, it is applicable whether it is a private or public organisation. It is interesting to use this technique if a problematic includes a large panel of stakeholders. Design thinking can be helpful to develop digital services such as a mobile app, especially because it includes a testing stage.

What are the challenges?

Depending on the goal, Design Thinking can be a long process because of the wide involvement of stakeholders.

How we use it at CORESO?

CORESO assists its partner during the whole process and supports stakeholders in every stage. Our computer assisted techniques allow groups to reach results faster and accelerate the process. We will define together how best to proceed.
