I am passionate about data analysis and modelling because of its potential to reveal patterns beyond the obvious. In particular, I believe that Agent-Based Models stand out in Social Sciences by allowing us to understand aggregated results without eliminating individual agent contributions. I am proud to be part of CORESO's network, since it represents a great opportunity for transdisciplinary research and development of these (and other) models.
Georgina specialises in applied econometrics and agent-based modelling. Her main research topics are social mobility, gender equality, as well as policies related to household demographics and in general.
During her last role as senior analyst for 3 years to the Simulation Unit (USim) at the National Laboratory of Public Policy (LNPP) in Mexico City, she participated in a number of projects focused on the effect of social mobility, economic growth and inequality when switching to a universal social security system in Mexico and on the healthcare system seen as a complex system through the eyes of an agent-based approach. She also played a role as a contributor to the LNPP’s tax simulator.
