The State of Vaud publishes an empirical study by CORESO on equal pay compliance

2022-06-14

The Office of Equality between Women and Men (BEFH in french) of the State of Vaud has published a study written by CORESO concerning a review of the tolerance threshold applied during equal pay controls.

This study was commissioned by the BEFH in order to better understand the stakes of possibly lowering the tolerance threshold now used in equal pay analyses. Our team carried out a statistical analysis based on data from a large number of firms in order to better assess how a reduction of the tolerance threshold would impact the compliance rate of employing entities with regard to equal pay. This empirical analysis will allow policy makers to better predict the consequences of a possible change.

The analysis was conducted in close collaboration with Roman Graf, a member of our network who has been conducting equal pay analyses in Switzerland for many years.
