Education
Florian is a simulation model developer, programmer, trainer and facilitator of collective intelligence workshops. As head of the scientific foundation of CORESO's applied research projects, he strengthens the synergies and bridges the gap between the academic world and the company's business operations.
Born in Basel, Switzerland, Florian has extensive teaching and modelling experience over 13 years. He specialises in complex systems, quantitative analysis, applied econometrics and computational modelling of various social phenomena. His main research topics are behavioural economics, health economics and development economics.
Since 2021, he is part of the dedicated expert group to equal-pay controls carried out by the State of Vaud in Switzerland. As of 2022, he has joined the pool of equal-pay experts at the Swiss national level.
Previously, he was lecturer and director of the simulation unit (USim) at the National Public Policy Laboratory (LNPP) in Mexico, where he collaborated in the application of the systems approach to employment inequality issues. He was also visiting professor at the Department of Economics of the Centre for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) in Mexico.
Before joining CIDE, he worked as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Geneva and as a researcher at the Swiss Leading House in Economics of Education at the Institute of Applied Economics (ILEA) in Geneva. He has also worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on its annual regional human development report for Latin America.
