Knowledge sharing and collaboration among stakeholders across disciplines and domains is essential to find successful policies to solve complex problems at every step.

Florian is responsible for the company’s scientific foundation and business operations. He leads the nurturing of research affiliations, partnerships and commercial relationships to enhance synergies between the academic and business world.

Born in Basel, Switzerland, Florian comes with an extensive scientific background of over 13 years on quantitative modelling of various social phenomena with a particular focus on applied econometrics and agent-based modelling. His main research topics include health economics, development economics and behavioural economics.

For four years, he was professor and head of the Simulation Unit (USim) at the National Laboratory of Public Policy (LNPP) in Mexico City and previously visiting professor at the Economics department of the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) over a year in Mexico City.

Before joining CIDE, he worked as research and teaching assistant at the University of Geneva and researcher to the Swiss Leading House in Economics of Education at the Institute of Applied Economics (ILEA) in Geneva. He has also worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in their annual Regional Human Development Report for Latin America.
