Alejandra is Sub-Director of Outreach and Editorial at the Research Institute for Sustainable Rural Development and Food Sovereignty (CEDRSSA) in Mexico. She holds a doctorate in public policy, and specialises in collective intelligence and prospective techniques. She also integrates principles of behavioural science in the design of participatory workshops. Her main research topics are compliance, conflict of interest, working motivation, retirement savings, climate change, resilience, among others.
Before joining the CEDRSSA, she was researcher at the National Laboratory of Public Policy (LNPP), where her main contribution centered on advancing a better understanding of decision making, particularly between groups of public and private organisations tackling social and complex issues. During this position, she designed components of research methods for a wide range of applied research topics; primarily focusing on a mixed method approach.
Previously, she coordinated the research and consultancy area associated to the Public Policy graduate school (EGAP) at Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), where she kept an intense agenda working alongside subnational governments for the creation of the national platform of Identification of Strategic Development Opportunities for all the Mexican states. This included defining the methodology for the identification and analysis of megatrends.
Since 2023, she is associate research for NovaGov Foundation.
